Hmmmm...i must admit i'v never heard of bepanthen but it sounds just like Sudocream (which is also a nappy rash cream) I tried sudocream and it made my tattoo scab the worst iv ever had a tattoo scab. Im guessing bepanthen would do the same.

I've just had a solid black pattern design at the bottom of my back. Perhaps that's why its scabbing so badly cos of where it is? Anyway, bep isn't working at all lol. Think I'll try something else now.

Hi all just thought id put in my tuppence worth we here at flamin8 swear by bepanthen i put it on all tattoos when i wrap them and insist that you buy it before you leave if you follow the aftercare correctly you will get no scab if you do its because youve allowed your tattoo to dry out before washing it or applying the cream or your tattooist has overworked the area and bepanthen is not the same as sudocream or any other one you care to mentionive been tattooing close to 20 years now and getting tattooed for over 25 so i speak from experience the only other cream i ever use is a+d ointment but i have only found this in the states as far as i can see any other creams may as well just be moisturiser thank you

also once you start to get a scab due to whatever reason that is it the end do not touch it or get it wet if at all possible just let nature take its course and allow it to drop off in its own time changing cream or fussing over a scab will only make matters worse leading to drop out and possibly scarring
to avoid getting a scab the key is to pay plenty of attention to the tattoo in the first couple of days
do not allow blood lymph or excess ink to dry on the tattoo
wash it down regularly with bottled or boiled water dry carefully and apply cream sparingly
you may need to repeat this several times the first day but as it stops weeping it will become less and less nessacary as the days pass itll still take several weeks for the skin to recover completely and you will still itch but you will get no scab and it will hold all its colour and be less likely to scar
