Hi my name is Wendy i am 29 years old living in Exeter, Devon. I am seeking an apprenticeship in Exeter or the surrounding areas. I have got no hands on experience with tattooing other then the tattoos i have myself. I have recently enrolled in college courses for art/design to brush up on my artistic skills. I have tried contacting the local tattoo shops in Exeter but have got little/no response from them.

Mmm I think the best way to go is to make a protfolio. Tattoo artists wont consider people without it. You need to show there your artistic skills. The basic is drawing something fast, of a good quality at least and it must show you have a very good imagination. Try to make a protfolio with drawings of different styles and add something out of the record... like something new that doesn't fit any style. Once with that, go personally to the studio, behave politely and ask for an interview. If your work is allright they may consider you. Good luck...
